What is a personnel lift?
A personnel lift is a type of vertical boom lift, which does not extend outwards like a cherry picker and often does not reach as high as a scissor lift. It is conveniently compact for restricted indoor environments and used for diverse purposes such as changing lights, picking stock, and general plant maintenance.

What safety precautions do I need to take when using a personnel lift?
Our personnel lifts are smaller than our scissor lifts and cherry pickers, but that doesn’t mean MEWP safety precautions should be neglected.
A thorough risk assessment should be carried out before any work takes place on your personnel platform, considering the MEWP itself, the people operating it and the environment it is being operated in.
Your vertical personnel lift should also be thoroughly checked every six months. Horizon Platforms carry out these inspections on all of our fleet as standard as well as pre-delivery inspections before each hire. However, it is still advisable to do pre-use inspections and familiarise yourself with the lift.
Last but not least, operators must be fully trained and licensed before operating a personnel platform.

Should I buy or hire a personnel platform?
